Abstract

Theater photography consists of bringing together two diametrically opposed arts: theater, whose particularity lies in its ephemeral nature, and photography, which is based on the purpose of capturing the moment. Attempting to capture what happens in a play is a contradiction in terms; however, it is legitimate to want to record a memory, to develop a perspective, to express through photography the meaning of that perspective, its point of view, its understanding of the subject. The essence of theater is its ephemeral nature, a creation that, like life itself, evaporates the moment it is realized.
