Abstract
In this essay, the author presents criteria—philosophical, psychological, and aesthetic in nature—that function as factors in the creative exchange involving the playwright and the artist in general. Simultaneously, the author establishes a framework for what may be understood as "postmodernity," drawing various connections to the theatrical work currently in production—*Prométeme que no gritaré* ("Promise Me I Won’t Scream") by Víctor Viviescas—while exploring to what extent it is valid to identify, within this literary work, elements of this new condition of human social practice and its influence on the theatrical production under development.
