Abstract
This diptych, co-authored, reflects on the role of performance in the piece *La Sierra Nevada*, based on the writings of Élisée Reclus. The first part analyzes Michael Kirby’s concept of “simple acting” to define the interpretive work of the piece’s narrators and their function within the action. Furthermore, it proposes a formal connection between the work and postdramatic theatre, as articulated by Hans-Thies Lehmann. The second segment consists of a text written by the author and director—presented as working notes for the actors—which expands upon the theoretical concepts discussed in the first part and grounds them in concrete experience.
