Abstract
The author addresses various elements that warrant consideration today regarding the nature of theater as an art form—at a time when the methods of staging are shifting toward new ways of expression and writing for the stage. It is worth reflecting on whether theater today functions less as a space for "representation"—in the traditional, inherited sense—and more as a space for direct, visceral experience; this aligns with the vision of Antonin Artaud, who, as early as the last century, advocated for a theater that speaks to the body rather than the intellect. Furthermore, the author highlights the need to examine artistic discourse through perspectives that interrogate concepts of verisimilitude and truth—not only within the work of art itself but also within the very act of artistic creation, specifically within the Colombian context.
