Abstract
One could discuss the voice or vocal work in very broad, general terms—referring, for instance, to the training undertaken by professional and amateur groups, non-formal acting academies, and higher education institutions for theater. Such an approach, however, would require rigorous and in-depth research. To provide a more concrete scope for this article, we will focus on vocal work within a professional training context: specifically, the training currently being conducted as part of the Bachelor’s degree program in Theater Arts at the Faculty of Performing Arts of Bellas Artes in Cali.
