Abstract
In 1955, marking the second anniversary of Lieutenant Rojas Pinilla’s administration, the "cha-cha-cha" rhythm is all the rage. Residents of Cali receive medical care services from the Colombian Social Security Institute for the first time, while also eagerly awaiting the long-heralded television signal—which would not actually become a reality until January 1956.
