Abstract

While attending primary school at the Salvador Iglesias public school in the Barrio Libertadores neighborhood, I took my first theater classes. The teacher, Ana Ruth Velasco—known as "Ruquita"—a member of the Fine Arts *Teatro Escuela de Cali* (Cali Theater School), had been sent by the Departmental Secretariat of Education to teach theater in Cali's schools.
