2nd National Gathering of Higher Schools of Theater: A Vital Recognition

Abstract

The landscape of theater training in Colombia is broader and more complex than is generally assumed. The relationships between theater and pedagogy are defined by experiences ranging from the informal to the academic, encompassing a wide variety of non-formal teaching approaches. Furthermore, it is undeniable that in recent decades, the methods and knowledge generated by each of these types of experiences have influenced the others. University and higher education programs have drawn upon non-formal initiatives, even undergoing transformation through the assimilation of pedagogical practices developed outside the academic sphere. Conversely, non-formal and informal theater training programs have benefited from significant methodological, technical, and conceptual contributions from higher education institutions.
