Abstract
In this article, Jorge Iván Suárez takes a historical approach to the complex and controversial relationship between the body, the stage, and technology. To do so, the author reviews the work of two prominent creators and researchers on the subject, Oskar Schlemmer and Adolphe Appia, in the first half of the 20th century. From there, he proposes a reflection on the prejudices generated by concepts such as spectacle, gaze, and spectator, as well as the presence of technology in the contemporary scene.
