Abstract
This article—commissioned by *Papel Escena*, a journal from the Bellas Artes institution in Cali—addresses the crisis of theater criticism in Colombia, specifically its complete absence or total lack of influence. I was preparing to publish it when, almost providentially, the Master’s program in Art History at the University of Antioquia held a seminar titled "Writing and Art," led by the Mexican scholar Karen Cordero from the Universidad Hispanoamericana. Thanks to her, her contributions, and the ensuing discussion, I decided to rewrite the piece and rethink some of my ideas—ideas that were challenged when viewed through the broader perspective of art criticism.
