Abstract
Thanks to the immense efforts of the Ibero-American Theater Festival’s organizer, founder, and promoter—the late, fondly remembered actress Fanny Mickey—the event has become a cultural landmark. Centered on the diversity of the performing arts, it offers fresh perspectives on the nature of theatrical performance and the work of actors, directors, musicians, and other stage artists by bringing together a wide array of exceptional productions from both the national and international scenes.
In this article, the author summarizes the Festival’s significance within the Colombian theater landscape while highlighting a major contemporary artist showcased at the most recent Festival: the animator and filmmaker Norman McLaren, whose work was brought to the stage in the production *Norman*.
