Abstract
Commedia dell'arte embodies certain practical and philosophical principles linked to the deepest roots of the art of performance. Since the dawn of time, theater has existed to amuse, delight, and entertain, and—above all—to enable humanity to understand itself and seek, among other things, an explanation for its existence. This has been achieved first by imitating the self and subsequently by imitating society.
