Abstract

Finally, the third issue of Papel Escena magazine is released, a publication that has been so well received by the country's theater community. We are grateful for this positive reception and it motivates us to persevere with this publishing endeavor, as a small contribution to filling the void of specialized publications on theater in Colombia. These publications have been characterized by their intermittent and irregular appearances, highlighting the need to establish permanent publishing projects that foster reflection, research, and criticism. This issue includes research by professors from the Faculty of Performing Arts at the School of Fine Arts, as well as reflections and systematizations of pedagogical experiences related to theater. These experiences, in turn, provide feedback on their own artistic practices as active participants in theatrical creation processes—as actors, directors, playwrights, and producers of their own work in the city of Cali. Included are two papers presented at the fourth Meeting of Higher Schools of Theater I Papel Escena convened by the National School of Theatrical Art in Mexico City in 2000, to which the Bachelor's Degree in Theatrical Art of this Faculty was invited; the work of Enrique Buenaventura "La Guariconga" which has not been published to date and an interview with the versatile playwright, writer and director Juan Carlos Moyano, collecting and reviewing the experience of staging and disseminating the work "Memoria y olvido de Ursula Iguarán", which is considered a milestone of Colombian theater and about which there is little written memory and an imminent danger of oblivion.
